Bridging the Home/Office work experience

Ten years ago, the thought of working flexibly between our homes and our offices would have been unfathomable. With the uncertainty brought about by the current pandemic, many are now working from home effectively, but compromises often have to be made in the home-office.

Latest trends show that whilst employees are happy to work from home, many miss the technology their workplace provides. Some have faced limitations like working using smaller screens, or using one screen when they are used to using two or more.

How are forward-thinking businesses adapting?

Though we see that many plan to permanently empower their teams to work from home, we are seeing that many are looking to re-evaluate their meeting environment, breaking it down to four simple factors:

  1. Access content from home as it is in the office
  2. Future-proofed technology that aids office and home working alike
  3. Easy to operate and remotely manageable solutions
  4. Ongoing reliability and support when required

Accessing content from home as it is in the office: We are seeing employees create more content from home to be shared in meetings at work. One designer said recently “The last thing you want in any work environment is finding that assets you’ve designed at home aren’t compatible with the technology you use in the office

Businesses are addressing the technology questions whilst locked down so as to have the right type of technology in place when things re-open.“
