In Discussion With Lucy Wigley

As part of International Women's Day, we speak to our team to discuss what it's like for women working in tech.

Lucy is one of our Business Development Account Managers and has been with the company for over seven years.

Tell us a bit about yourself – I’m a bit of a clown most of the time, but there is also a sensitive side to me that not many people see. I’m a mum of a 7 year old boy who I adore and have a great love and passion for travelling. Roll on the holidays this year.

How did you get into tech?
– I’ve been in tech for 7 + years now, starting in the purchasing department and then moving into new business. I have since been promoted to business development. Who knows where I’ll be in a few years 😊

Do you feel that women are supported in tech? – I think there is always a stigma that tech is a very male environment, but over the past few years, we’ve seen more and more women getting into tech. It’s lovely to see. Our internal team is small and we are balanced well by both men and women.

What’s your favourite thing about your job? – I love the people I work with, we’re a great team and there’s nothing I love more than seeing them all. We’re all very well supported at Clevertouch.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? – Hopefully in 10 years time, I’ll still be at Clevertouch with the amazing people who work here. Hopefully working externally and meeting customers face to face.

Do you have any tips for other women wanting to start a career in tech? – Just go for it, you won’t regret it.

What has been your proudest moment or biggest achievement? – I think being nominated as "Most Improved Colleague" 2 years in a row has been a major boost for me. It’s a great achievement.
