The importance of a Destination Workplace in the hybrid working world.

The lockdown necessity of home working, where lives were lived and business conducted through a screen, has evolved into the longterm normality of hybrid working.  This practice blends the convenience of being at home, with the real-life pleasures of meeting colleagues and holding impromptu conversations in the workplace.  As businesses remodel their working environments to support a hybrid future, we take a look at the role a Destination Workplace can play in the redefined working week.

A Destination Workplace is not a place people have to attend, it is a place they want to attend.  It is an inviting space with a relaxed atmosphere, that’s filled with great technology and friendly faces.  It is a space that embodies the very best of hybrid working, by giving people the very best working environment whenever they choose to use it.

A little over a year ago we were proud to open the stunning Clevertouch Gallery and Destination Workplace in the heart of the City of London.  Showcasing our range of collaborative communication technologies and providing our team with a sumptuous space to welcome visitors, hold meetings and work together, the Gallery has proved to be hugely popular with both customers and colleagues.
Coinciding with the launch of Clevertouch Technologies – our ecosystem of unified communications solutions – the multi-purpose facility was designed by award winning experiential architects, to give both colleagues and visitors the opportunity to discover Clevertouch and experience the future of the hybrid workplace.

Stroll along the street and heads inevitably turn to the huge, LCD window displays enticing passers-by to stop and look.  Step inside and visitors are greeted with a vision of the future.  From the practical convenience of room booking displays, to the immersive wonder wall of digital signage and Clevertouch interactive touchscreens, the Gallery is a collection of ideas brought to life and a demonstration of the power of technology in a fully connected, hybrid workplace.
Eschewing rows of desks and designated workstations in favour of a modern relaxed environment – with sofas, ample window facing co-working benches and plenty of space for collaboration – the Destination Workplace fosters a culture of creativity and spirit of inclusivity.

Following the opening, we conducted a survey of our colleagues to gather their opinions and understand their preferred working practices.

With 80% of colleagues preferring face-to-face meetings, providing an environment to which people look forward to visiting and working – by combining the benefits to wellness of social interactions, with the necessity for privacy – is essential.  A less tangible, yet equally compelling, benefit of a Destination Workplace is the sense of pride it engenders in colleagues and the belief that they are a valued part of an innovative, growing company.

Read some of the comments from the Clevertouch Technologies team:
"I love being part of Clevertouch and the Gallery space in London is fantastic. It has a modern feel to it and has that WOW factor when you walk in. It is a good location in London, easy to get to and nice to catch up with colleagues in person.  10/10"

"The gallery has been a very positive thing, every single customer that visits it is complimentary. I genuinely think that it sets the tone for the technology when customers walk through the door and see such an amazing space."

"I rated the gallery 9/10 as there must be something which can be improved upon but I cannot think of anything!"

For businesses embracing a hybrid working model, a Destination Workplace that combines a modern, welcoming environment, with the latest collaboration technology is essential for a dynamic company culture and a happy, healthy, productive workforce.
