Challenge

The internal communications team at RBL faced a significant challenge: effectively reaching staff who aren’t desk-based and therefore often miss updates shared through traditional digital channels. Messages about staff benefits, procedures, and internal updates were going unseen, particularly by carers and well-being staff who work on the floor.

Additionally, there was a growing need to streamline communication for visitors and community members, especially at Galanos House—the only RBL home with a dedicated Community Hub and café that serves 80 to 120 meals a day.

Solution

To solve these challenges, CleverLive digital signage screens were installed across six RBL care homes. These included:

• Staff Rooms: To deliver internal messages such as HR policies, health initiatives, and operational updates.
• Reception Areas: To offer a welcoming, professional first impression with custom-designed screens sharing essential information.
• Community Hub and Café (Galanos House): To advertise menus, community events, and updates dynamically with visually engaging screens.

CleverLive’s flexible system allowed for:
Remote scheduling of content (ideal for holidays and special events).

• Custom design capabilities, accommodating RBL’s strict brand guidelines.
• Seamless integration of messaging loops, real-time updates, and QR-based interactivity (e.g., Google Reviews).
• Optional integration with room booking displays to streamline space usage in the Hub.

Results

Looking Ahead

RBL is exploring additional features such as integrated room booking panels and future updates from CleverLive, which promise a more modern interface and smoother functionality. The homes are also considering how to assign dedicated staff to keep content fresh and relevant across all locations.
